Digital Hub was created with a simple idea: technology affects everyone, so understanding it shouldn’t be reserved for techies.

We bring together people from every type of business to learn, connect and make sense of a fast-changing digital world. No assumed knowledge, no unnecessary jargon and no need to speak fluent ‘geek’.

Whether you work in tech or normally avoid tech events altogether, you’ll feel at home here.

You don’t need to be a techie. You just need to be curious.

What is the Digital Hub?

At its heart, Digital Hub is about making technology useful, understandable and accessible to everyone.

Every other month, we bring together people from tech and non-tech businesses to explore what’s changing, why it matters and how it could affect you or your business. No assumed knowledge, no unnecessary jargon and definitely no need to be a techie.

Our events are:

  • Inclusive – designed for everyone, especially those who wouldn’t normally attend a tech event.
  • Jargon-free – complex subjects explained in plain English.
  • Engaging – great speakers and TED-style presentations that keep things moving.
  • Practical – useful ideas, demonstrations and takeaways you can actually use.

Digital Hub is for all sectors – from law firms and retailers to manufacturers and creative agencies.

If you run a business, you already rely on technology. The Hub simply makes it easier to understand, adopt, and benefit from. You’ll leave each session with the confidence to put new ideas into action – whether that’s boosting your digital marketing, protecting against cybercrime, or finding smarter ways to work with AI.

We also welcome students for free – helping to inspire the next generation of digital talent. 🎓

Digital Hub runs bi-monthly at the Lanes Hotel (High Street, West Coker, Yeovil Somerset BA22 9AJ), 17:30–20:00.

What to Expect? 

Yes, there’s food, a bar and plenty of time to chat! But the real reason to come is to learn what’s changing in tech, why it matters and what you can actually do with it.

  • Tech & Trends Update – what’s happening in the tech world, stripped of the jargon and explained in plain English.
  • Keynote Speakers – engaging, TED-style talks from brilliant speakers across a wide range of subjects and industries.
  • AI Update & Live Demos – see the latest AI tools and developments in action, not just talked about.
  • Tips, Tricks & Hacks – each presenter shares a favourite shortcut, tool or clever little trick you can try yourself.
  • Relaxed Networking – meet people from tech and non-tech businesses over good food and a drink.
  • A Bit of Fun – expect quizzes, laughs and the occasional game or giveaway. We are a tech event, but we don't take ourselves too seriously.

I founded the Digital Hub in 2023 after years of thinking about how to make technology less intimidating for local businesses. Having spent my whole career in tech, and now working as Sales Director at web agency Kontrolit, I could see how quickly AI and digital tools were changing—and how many business owners were getting left behind.

I’ve been part of Digital Hub since the very beginning, working alongside Richard to help shape it into what it is today. As co-founder of EdTech company Techosaurus, I’ve spent my whole career helping people make sense of technology in ways that are practical and easy to apply.
